We are proud to announce that our Crew Manager Mr. Gkountaras Argyris has been re-elected in the position of Volunteer Director on the elections of the International Maritime Employers Council (IMEC) during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was held on Wednesday, 10th of April 2019 in Southampton, UK.
The International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC) is the only international employers’ organisation dedicated to maritime industrial relations. Established over fifty years ago, it operates from offices in London, UK, and Manila in the Philippines and represent over 200 shipping companies located all over the world. IMEC members are individual shipping companies, both owners and managers, large and small, operating all types of ships including dry bulk, container, cruise liners, livestock carriers, reefers and tankers. Together they operate more than 11,200 vessels registered in more than 60 different countries and employ in excess of 290,000 seafarers of 68 different nationalities.
Mr. Gkountaras has managed to be re-elected indicating the strong support and recognition received from fellow IMEC Members and continued his already active course and participation within IMEC which began on 2016 with his election on IMEC’s Recruitment & Training Committee (position on which he was re-elected on 2018) and his initial election as IMEC’s Volunteer Director on 2017.
